Concentrating on vocals tonight like Cliff Richards of the Shadows singing in Italian. The Late Peggy Lipton. Along with talented favorites that never became super famous.  Like Scott Walker doing “the Godfather.  Esther Ofarim backed by obscure musician Bobby Scott. Easy California vocals by the Free Design. It’s “Exotica Cool Strange and Unusual Music”. Our by-line: “Pop instrumental music from the 50’s and beyond, including TV and Film Soundtracks, Beatnik and Private Eye Jazz, Exotica, and a collage of sounds from out of space.

Esther Ofarim – “I Have Dreamed”. Looked up the song and it is a show tune from the 1951 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, The King and I. I’m a big fan of the movie “The American President “ directed by Rob Reiner and written by Aaron Sorkin. So it’s a pre “West Wing” production. There’s a scene where Sydney Ellen Wade is dancing with the president at a state dinner and the song is “I Have Dreamed”. It took me 20 years to realize that subtlety. She is dancing with “The King”.
