The Exotica Facebook Group 9 Years Old Today!

Want to spend MORE time goofing off on the Internet? Promoting Exotica related topics?

The original Exotica Mailing List started up in 1994, very early in the history of the internet. By someone who worked at a ISP (Internet Service Provider) and, for fun, created several mailing lists on various topics at the ISP for free.

As the internet grew and people started searching for “Exotica”, “Lounge” or “Space Age” they found the List, joined, and a Community grew out of it. This was all before Wiki, Amazon, YouTube and the convenient but limiting Facebook. The List is gone, and we are thriving on Facebook now.

Any ideas on how to EXPAND THIS GROUP BACK OUTSIDE OF FACEBOOK? Not everyone is on Facebook...  TWITTER, PINTEREST? What are you Millennial's using out there? And would you like to take it on?

We need an "EXOTICA AMAZON"? A marketplace of options and features? Or merge with an existing entity or Blog?

A DAILY EMAIL DIGEST of brief substantive posts? Featuring professional and amateur "passion projects"? It is OK to promote and remind of events we love! Tiki Oasis, artist releases, tours, radio and internet stations, programs and Podcasts. And sites where we can download out of copyright music?

How do our SINGLES find each other? Can this demographic be moved over to a dating app?

There’s a boom of new aficionados, who consume content in new and unexpected ways than us  “first wavers” of the 1990’s. Time to pass the Tiki torches?

Individuals in this group are making music, DJing in clubs, radio and on the Net, writing articles and other “passion projects”.  They want to promote and share, but looking for the best way to reach the largest audience.

Any new Millennial "ExoticaRing" Leaders out there? With ideas on how to buck the trend? Get back to our independent roots?

Are we feisty consumers and don’t want to be boxed in, “marketed” or “compartmentalized”. But we still want to find, consume. Meet interesting like-minded people on the Internet who can show us something new.
