Our iZotope wizard revisited his original remastering of the three albums by the The Gene Rains Group. I must say his new versions of these LPs are a subtle, but definite improvement that calls for an update to the files on the blog. The original post has been updated to the new files. The zip archive for each album contains: the audio files for each track in lossless FLAC format, with 24-bit samples @ 96 KHz, and also images of the front and back covers. No guarantee how long the links will be valid, so get them while you can.

1959 – Polynesia (Stereo)
Crown Records – CST 169
Notes: The Directional Sound label reissued this album in 1962 as Polynesian Paradise/Percussion. The original Crown Records release (this one) has better audio quality with an extra 4db of dynamic range. And it also gives credits to the recording artists. The Directional Sound version sounds like they duplicated the original master tape through an echo chamber.
